Pray For Me...

Dear Friends and Family,
Today is the day that I leave for Namibia, Africa on my first mission trip! Last night, surprisingly, I got a solid night sleep. I actually expected to toss and turn more than I did. Why did I get such great sleep? Because God’s Presence and Peace is at the absolute core of me! I have come to full belief of His call on my life at this time, at this moment, TODAY, to answer Him in “Here I am, send me!” This morning in my quiet time, I read Oswald Chambers’ “My Utmost For His Highest”. He spoke of not being concerned of the enemy nor worried for my life … but being absolutely consumed in the Greatness of God and believing that He holds my life in His Hands. I have such an unspeakable peace and comfort in the Sovereignty of my God. Thank You, God, for such a word of encouragement as I prepare to go!

I want to thank all of you for your prayers and support thus far in my journey. Your testimony of support and love has given me so much fuel in my preparation! My heart has been humbled, I have praised God, and my life is different already simply by your acts of kindness. Just yesterday, an incredibly sweet lady from my church family called me and was outside my house. She handed me an envelope and insisted I take it towards the trip fares and asked if she could pray for me. She summoned her children and right there in my front yard, we circled up and prayed for God to protect, change and use me during the next 14 days. Artie and I walked upstairs in such incredible thanksgiving for how richly Jesus has surrounded us with His Presence. Praise You, Lord!

As I go, please pray for us! The team members (seen in the picture, but Denise was missing) are: Jeff Sukup (team leader), Galen Garrison (co-leader), Denise Diorio, Susan Weeks, Lindsay Crosswhite, and myself. The organization that we are assisting in Namibia is Hope’s Promise Orphan Ministries. For their prayer requests please visit: http://www.hpomnamibia.org/index.htm.

To stay tuned on how we’re doing and to hear a report of all God is doing in Namibia, Africa – visit my home church website and on the homepage there should be an audio link. We plan on reporting each day – so stay tuned for our first report. The web address to my church is: www.dibc.org

Thank you again for all you mean to me and Artie and especially to this significant time in my life! Love to you all! Can’t wait to report with pictures and stories!

In the Greatness of God,
For His Glory alone,

Lela McCall
